After a year spent exploring VR, the team behind Glastonbury’s Shangri-La is coming back to reality this summer festival season, with everyone’s dream IRL venue, Lost Horizon HQ, an independent arts centre and bar in the heart of Bristol UK.

I think the technology is insane - I had a sneak peak (at Lost Horizon) and wandered around. Some people can’t afford to travel around the world to go to all the festivals, so I think this is a great opportunity for those who can’t attend all the big festivals in the summer. It’s also a lot better for the environment. I think it’s definitely an alternative world for the industry.

We now see this as being another way of connecting with our fans. Even when touring comes back we want to continue doing innovative streaming experiences like Lost Horizon.

It was quite surreal actually and an eye-opening experience to the future of livestreams - definitely more engaging for fans.

We know time is limited and precious, in the current global climate, so our first series of ten virtual events will now be spread throughout December, January and February to ensure visitors across the globe have the opportunity to attend them all.
